What Does it Mean?: Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®)

You might have seen these letters behind someone's name, on TV, or even on our website.  I will be using this post to describe what this designation is, and why it matters to our clients.  

The letters CFP® represent Certified Financial Planner™ professionals who have met the rigorous requirements set forth by the CFP® Board.  CFP® professionals are required to meet education requirements that include financial planning course work, a comprehensive examination, 3 years of qualified financial planning experience, and to uphold strict ethical standards.
